Gillian Greer is in the process of creating this new ceramic arttile panel. It is a commission and will adorn the entrance to a holiday apartment next to the distinguished Marine Hotel, a prestigious Walkerbay property with one of the southern hemisphere’s most spectacular seascapes.
The original drawing was reworked with computer aided editing programs with an aim to recreate the figure. The influence of present day technology will be the foundation when the artist start the transfer of this preparative drawing. The creative controlĀ over ceramic pigments and processes will then be used and abused to recreate the original and subsequent computer aided creative alterations.
Keep your eyes peeled to see how this exciting project will develop over the next few weeks!

This is certainly very interesting, Gillian! I actually can see the movement in those limbs - a real piece of art this. The colouring makes it even more unusual and exiting. We will definitely keep our eyes peeled to see how it will progress!

Wat een kracht , vuur en vaart zit er in deze dansende figuren.
Spetterende kleuren, daar krijg je energie van.
Geweldig .

This panel will consume her energy as much as the dancers need energy to jump and fly … she need to focus … and become one with the idea to transfer dynamic forces through the use of ceramic pigments and techniques … dedicated attention to detail … and intense memory of what is and might happen during the processes influenced by fire … will exhaust her but all this loss will give life to a vibrant ceramic artwork.
