Temporary handmade tile inserts, with handpainted gold images, into travertine tiles.

Posted under Tips of the Trade

A client surprised me a while ago with this brilliant idea!

He bought two sets of seven, one with red and gold and the other with blue and gold, to use as inserts with his travertine tiles. The idea was to cut squares into the travertine and then to use “press stick” to adhere the tiles. After grouting the tiles it will present as being permanent but in actual fact his idea was to remove them again, replacing them with the next set of tiles!

The tiles were similar to these 100 x 100mm tiles.

    Hallo Gerrit

What innovative clients you have! - it was a brilliant idea, but ofcourse the main things was to make these little treasures and for that he needed you! As always, the result is beautiful to the last little detail and the colour combinations are beautiful.

    Thanks Elza

It is true, but I hope that visitors to this blog will present some of their own ideas, even send us some images, to share with us and others visiting this blog.

Clay is a wonderful medium, it can reflect so much of our personalities, but as the day and shadows change it can then also mirror the different moods we all have!

    Till next time

    Hi Gerrit,

Doen navraag by Gillian Bickel 011 957 2024 of doen n Google search vir Keramiek organisasies in jou area.

    Lekker bly
    Gerrit
