Relax On These Cool Green Mosaic Tiled Chairs At a New Lodge In Mozambique.

Posted under At the Studio & Recently Sold & Uncategorized

Our latest commission with a Moroccan flair is takingĀ  shape and will soon be dispatched for installation at Benguerra Villas in Mozambique.

Thousands of little tiles are packed on templates, to confirm the fit with the architectural drawings, and then parceled with supplied documentation and diagrams for the developer and his contractors.

Each villa has it’s own colour scheme, one with brighter greens and the other with more smudgy tones of greens.

Working with a professional Interior Design Team, with the capacity to make decisions quickly and decisively, makes this an exciting project to develop and produce.

The process sounds complicated to me but it certainly is an exiting project and one that will surely give a lot of satisfaction on completion. The mottled greens are lovely and we already have a picture of this village in our minds. Waving palm trees for one, inspired by these lovely greens - and a roxy bench on a patio overlooking the sea! You will have to go there once this project is completed and supply the rest of us with pictures so we can dream on!

Both Gillian and I dream of visiting this utopia … that island in the sun… one day!

Developing the colour palette and then to have it successfully produced is extremely complicated and any action during this process must never be underestimated! Just the application during hand dipping will make a difference and during the heat of summer the evaporation from the glazes will provide surprisingly different results … far from the desired colours that is part of the brief!

The ultimate arrangement of the tiles on the templates and then seeing the labeled boxes leave, that is real satisfaction.

The cherry on top is the feedback from a happy client … but this is a bonus, that surprise us while grappling with the solutions of the next project!

We are interested to know how this project is progressing over in Mozambique. Hope we will get more feedback soon, Gerrit.

The contractors are in the process of installing. The grout will be a light to med Grey to lift the jewllike greens even more.
