A Superb Rendition Of Avontuur’s Stallion, VAR, On A Ceramic Tile.

Posted under Ceramic art Tiles & Recently Sold

Gillian Greer was commissioned to hand paint this thoroughbred racing horse, in memory of Tony Taberer of Avontuur Wine Estate and Stud Farm.

The confidence in the use of brushstroke and the proud glittering eye makes for an exceptional arttile. It draws and holds the attention of the viewer as only a champion can!

The rich brown colours of the coat invites the viewer to stroke the strong neck of this powerful race horse at Avontuur Wine Estate and Stud Farm.

My goodness, Gillian! This took my breath away! What a talent you have got. That eye, the lovely rich colour of the coat and yes, one does want to stroke that powerful neck. I’m sure the owners were delighted and if it was my beloved horse I would have been quite emotional too upon seeing it the first time. I’m sure they will treasure this tile for ever. You MUST start painting, Gillian. I know painting a tile is also painting but you should do more with such a great talent!

The new year will hopefully provide time and funding for a few exciting projects concerning Gillian’s art!!
