This Bathroom Was Refreshed With The Imaginitive Use Of Triangular Green Ceramic Tiles!

Posted under Bathroom Tiles

The client redecorated her retirement cottage with the innovative use of ceramic tiles.  Here we can view the bathroom where she used green triangular tiles. The green is a superb choice for any bathroom and will compliment terracotta floors.

I always find it refreshing when individuals make “their mark”… “the shock of the new” … the building blocks of confident individuals!

She revived two bathrooms and a kitchen and more images will follow.

What A Surprice To See A Ceramic Platter Of Mine In A Penthouse Apartment In Pretoria!

Posted under Uncategorized

Many moons ago I formed several impulsive platters, all of them rectangular with some organic overtones decorated with dots. I was quite pleased with the end result, and sold most of the platters.

This platter ended up in this apartment and would invite viewers to click on the image to view the website with more images of this awesome and most inspiring environment. This home is a lived in interior space communicating a story, vibrant, colorful and exciting!

How can rooms, four walls, without art … ceramic art …  by the likes of Ruan Hoffmann, Robert Hodgins,Hilton Nel, Haneke Benade and others … be called a home?

The Benguerra Villas In Mosambique Are Nearing Completion!

Posted under Kitchens Tiles & Recently Sold

The clients are ecstatic, the interior designer is as well and we are over the moon! Soon we shall receive images from  the final photo shoot and these will show the Moroccan styled handmade tiles in all its glory!

Note the build in benches with its green tiles. The greens were customized to suit the fabrics used in the soft furnishings and probably was the most difficult endeavor of this project.

These installations with our handmade and custom designed tiles could not be better planned and executed and no wonder that the professional team and the clients are so happy!

Art Tiles, Telling A Story Like It Is!

Posted under Ceramic art Tiles & Tsepe Tsepe Design

What I like about these art works is that it captures the subtle nuances of present day life and as such save visual images for generations to come!

img_7800.jpg

This initiation scene, the crossing of a mystical line, the walk from boyhood to manhood, the trance and the trauma, the period of life we can all relate to but so seldom express and capture in a visual medium.

The minimal use of technique expose these tender moments, chillingly but all so effectively, telling a story of what was and what awaits the child that is no more!

img_7804.jpg

Transport for the workers classes is a traumatic choice, mostly unaffordable but al so neccassary to reach your place of work. Everyday the worker will reach this crossroad, to spend money on a taxi, money needed for schooling, food, clothes, shelter. The fear of not reaching your destination and not getting paid make him/her pay and at the end of the day fatique will drive most to pay up again … a few will walk … maybe hours … to reach home with a few precious rands more saved for food!

For the privilidged this is just a circle of convenience but for the worker it is a daily crossroad as well, a daily decision of gain or loss!

To All Mothers, Words On Ceramic Tiles Will Instruct Visitors On What To Do Next In This Bathroom.

Posted under Bathroom Tiles

I just love receiving feedback from clients!

Gerrit

Thanks for the tiles – they arrived safe and sound and are now up on the walls. I have also taken pics of the word tiles and a plate that I bought from the shop 3 years ago. I’m very pleased with it all – thank you. However, it would have helped had my tiler last week actually put the ‘S’ tiles the right way up! Muppet!

Best wishes

Sarah

I received these images from Sarah in London. She used our tiles, some plain blue tiles and others printed with letters in this quirky bathroom and shower.

These tiles are 75 x 75mm, and works extremely well with the larger tiles, accentuating the border effect and the words.
